On this occasion <strong>Pandora Dourmisi<\/strong>, Greece, winner of the 2013 grant presented the results of her project <em>Derelict earthen architecture in the west Balkan region<\/em> in particular a series of photographs from her observations in Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovine and Croatia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>31-03-2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>2014 Marc de Montalembert grant<\/strong> was awarded to <strong>Alessia LEOFREDDI<\/strong>, Italy, for her project \u00ab <i>The liturgy as \u201c musical drama \u201d of the Eastern Orthodox church in Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina e Montenegro<b> <\/b><\/i>\u00bb. The aim of the project is to study the Eastern Orthodox church\u2019s liturgy and the symbolic function of ceremonial gestures as a language expressing popular mystical experiences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>19-03-2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the seat of the Institut national d\u2019histoire de l\u2019art (INHA), in Paris, the <strong>2014 Prix Marc de\u00a0 Montalembert<\/strong> was presented by Mr. Jean Pierre Van Sta\u00ebvel, professeur d\u2019arch\u00e9ologie des pays d\u2019Islam and directeur adjoint de l\u2019UFR d\u2019Histoire de l\u2019art et arch\u00e9ologie \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Paris Sorbonne, to <b>Allegra IAFRATE<\/b>, art historian from Italy for her research entitled \u201c<strong><i>The Wandering Throne of Solomon : a study of a \u00a0shared cultural symbol in the Medieval Mediterranean<\/i><\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong>. On this occasion <strong>Silvia ARMANDO<\/strong>, Prix Marc de Montalembert 2013 presented the results of her research on \u00a0\u201c<em>Art and archeology in the medieval Mediterranean world through the correspondence and photographic archives of Ugo Monneret de Villard<\/em><em>\u201d<\/em>. These results will be presented subsequently in a publication.<\/p>\n<p><strong>16-01-2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The winner of the<b> 2014 Marc de Montalembert Prize <\/b>is<b> Dr<\/b><b> <\/b><b>Allegra IAFRATE<\/b>, from Italy, PhD in art history of the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, Italy, for her research entitled \u201c<em><strong>The Wandering Throne of Solomon : a study of a \u00a0shared cultural symbol in the Medieval Mediterranean<\/strong><\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>The Prize will make possible the completion of a research project on the influence of the Solomonic heritage on Christian, Jewish and Islamic art during the Middle Ages. By focusing on King Solomon\u2019s throne, the study aims at outlining a shared \u201cSolomonic aesthetic\u201d, quite widespread between the tenth and the thirteenth century, and by so doing, elaborate an interpretation of how objects of strong visual impact interact with written sources. On this occasion Rihda Moumni Prix Marc de Montalembert 2012 delivered a lecture entitled <em>Discours et contre-discours carthaginois : la d\u00e9couverte des antiquit\u00e9s dans la R\u00e9gence de Tunis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>18-01-2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Prix Marc de Montalembert 2013<\/strong> is awarded to<strong> Silvia Armando<\/strong>, art historian from Italy. Her research is entitled <em>\u201dArt and archeology in the medieval Mediterranean world through the correspondence and photographical archives of Ugo Monneret de Villars\u201d<\/em>. It focuses on the reknown scholar in Islamic art who was active in the first half of the XXth century. The workshop was attended by 28 participants of whom 13 young Greek. The focus of the workshop was on building the capacities of the participants to take initiatives in a context of crisis which calls for added social cohesion and individual participation and for approaches geared at systemic adaptation\/transformation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>30-09-2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the occasion of the European day of Culture the Foundation participates in the \u201d<strong>Open Doors<\/strong>\u201d initiative in the Medieval Town of Rhodes and opens the garden to the public. He was a fellow at Villa Medicis, in Rome. His research is entitled\u00a0\u00ab <strong>Qu\u00eates carthaginoises : la red\u00e9couverte de Carthage et sa r\u00e9ception dans la R\u00e9gence de Tunis<\/strong> \u00bb, an essay of rewriting a story of excavations of Carthage from their beginning at the end of the XVIIIth century to the independence of Tunisia. The Prize will presented to him by M.
